Head Chef- Aspen Tasting Room

The Stranahan’s Aspen Tasting Room is the soon-to-be second brand home of the leading American Single Malt Whiskey, Stranahan’s. The Aspen Tasting Room will immerse guests in alpine-inspired bites and top line whiskey cocktails and drams.

The Head Chef of the Aspen Tasting Room will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, staff management, and maintaining high culinary standards. You will work closely with the restaurant and brand management team to ensure an exceptional dining experience for customers while managing a team of cooks and kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align and establish goals, objectives and procedures with General Management
  • Menu developments to meet guest preferences, seasonal changes, meet quality and cost objectives
  • Oversee and participate in food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards
  • Work with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices
  • Collaborate with management team to continually improve guest experience
  • Train kitchen staff on proper food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and food safety practices
  • Ensure strict sanitation procedures on a daily and weekly basis to be compliant with Department of Health regulations and standards
  • Assist, plan and execute catering events with other departments and team members
  • Assist in establishing and upholding company standards, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive environment and continuously build a high-performance team
  • Conduct weekly meetings with management staff and ownership that include follow-ups from previous meetings
  • Strong interpersonal skills with staff and guests

Skills/Requirements

  • Proven success and leadership experience in high end food and beverage service
  • Strong experience with P&L management and ability to oversee food cost and labor control to achieve bottom line profitability
  • Strong understanding of inventory systems
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
  • Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
  • Formal culinary education or relevant certifications
  • Food Safety Handler license

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $75,000 – $85,000, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits.
