Whiskey lovers unite! The legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre will host our free Snowflake Whiskey Release Day on 12/4 starting at 7AM, where you can sip whiskey among other passionate enthusiasts while enjoying live music, local food trucks, and of course, claim bottles of our renowned Snowflake whiskey.
Snowflake is the name of our rarest whiskey that is available during this one-day-only event. To create Snowflake, our Head Distiller finishes Stranahan’s American Single Malts in barrels that he discovers around the world, and meticulously blends them to create each unique Snowflake batch. The whiskey absorbs the rich flavors of the barrels procured from premium wine, sherry, cognac, rum & tequila distilleries to provide diverse flavor profiles that can be bold & spicy, rich & fruity, and always one-of-a-kind.
Because we were unable to release Snowflake in 2020, we will release TWO batches of Snowflake this year. Hear our Head Distiller, Owen Martin, introduce the Snowflake whiskey concepts for this year’s event on 12/4.
The Rise ‘N Shine Bash is the perfect way to begin this epic day. Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy Something Vinyl Club all-vinyl DJ set, Boot Gun‘s retro-meets-modern rock tunes, and yard games in our heated area. You can bounce around the Basted Egg, Taco Bron, and Just a Buck food trucks, Goodhart Coffee, and Stranahan’s own mixologists will be concocting your favorite whiskey cocktails.
Snowflake Village comes to life at the top of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with experiences that pay homage to what we love about our Colorado home. We’ll have live music, ice scuplting, and surprise activations available while you soak in the views of Red Rocks. Food and bars will be available throughout the Village.

Is 2021 a double release since 2020 was cancelled?
Yes! Guests will be able to purchase two bottles each of both 2020 and 2021 release. 4 bottles in total!
What is the price of each bottle and how many can I buy?
Price per 750ml bottle is $119.99. Guests will be able to buy two bottles of each batch (2020 and 2021) on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Where will purchasing be available?
For the first time ever, we will be moving the bottle release to a new location. Snowflake bottles will be available for purchase exclusively at Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park for a special event that you’re invited to attend.
Why are you moving the location of the Snowflake bottle release?
We’re thrilled to have seen this event grow over the years. It’s one of our favorite annual traditions. In order to accommodate the amount of guests that participate in this bottle release, a double batch release, and to provide our guests a larger, open-air venue, we have decided to move the release to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park.
When and where in Red Rocks will the Snowflake event be taking place?
All Snowflake guests are required to enter through Entrance 1. Gates will open at 7am – DO NOT arrive earlier or park rangers will ask you to leave. Guests will park in the Upper North Lot. Upon arrival into the lot, you will be given a badge that reflects the order in which you will be able to purchase bottles of Snowflake.
There will be food trucks, Stranahan’s cocktails, live music, and entertainment throughout the day for guests to enjoy while they wait to purchase Snowflake bottles. The festivities will conclude early afternoon with the release of Snowflake Batch 23 and 24.
Am I allowed to camp overnight at Red Rocks leading up to the Snowflake event?
No – per the city of Denver, the public is forbidden from overnight camping in Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park. Gates will open at 7am on Saturday. DO NOT arrive earlier. Park rangers will ask you to leave. This is a one-day event.
Is the Snowflake event free?
All event areas are free to enter! Guests will only need to purchase food, drink and bottles of Snowflake.
Where is Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park?
Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park is located at 18300 West Alameda Pkwy in Morrison, Colorado.
How far is Red Rocks from the Stranahan’s Distillery?

Can I buy Snowflake at the Stranahan’s distillery?
No – like all Snowflake batches, this is a one-day event and this year, bottles will only be able to be purchased at Red Rocks on Saturday, December 4.
Will the distillery be open during the Snowflake event?
No – our staff will all be at Red Rocks ensuring you have a good time and get your bottles in a prompt and orderly fashion! If you’re visiting from out of town that weekend and would like to check out the distillery, please visit us on Friday and Sunday. Please check our website or social channels for updated hours that weekend.
Is there a way to reserve my spot in line?
No – Snowflake is traditionally a first-come, first-serve event and it will be the same for this one-day-only event.

Will there be Snowflake and Stranahan’s merchandise available to purchase at the Red Rocks event?
Yes!
Will outside food and drinks be allowed in the venue?
Outside alcoholic drinks will not be allowed in the amphitheater.
Does my entire party have to arrive together to stand in the bottle sale line together?
Yes, the bottle sale line will reflect the order in which you arrived. You will be able to hang out together throughout the event and in all other event areas besides the bottle purchase line.

Do I have to be 21+ to enter the Snowflake Event?
You must be 21+ to receive a badge and purchase Snowflake bottles. Valid IDs will be required to receive a badge at the entry point and to purchase bottles of Snowflake.
If I arrive at 7am to get a spot in line, can I leave the event and return when bottle sales begin?
We strongly advise against leaving the event as we cannot guarantee you reentry to the park. Please either plan on arriving later, or plan to stay until you’ve claimed your bottles. Those not present when bottle sales begin risk being bumped to the back of the line, regardless of their initial arrival time.
What forms of payment will you be accepting?
We will have dedicated lines for cash & credit card sales for Snowflake bottle purchases.
If a friend gives me their badge, will I be able to purchase both mine and their bottles?
No, only one badge per guest will be accepted. You MUST be present to receive your bottles.
