Though Aspen is best known for its ski culture, it’s a year-round destination in one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of the country. High in the Rocky Mountains, Aspen is home to resorts, museums, incredible shopping, and a rich history dating back to the silver mining boom of the 1870s.
With the addition of Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge, Aspen now has a premier destination for whiskey lovers and a must-visit location for aprés-ski at any time of year.
Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge in Aspen
So, what’s Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge all about?
Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge in Aspen opened in March 2024 to mark Stranahan’s 20-year anniversary. For Jess Graber and George Stranahan, founders of Stranahan’s Whiskey, it’s a coming home story and reason for much celebration. As America’s most awarded Single Malt, it was a triumphant return to where the idea was born.
To kick off the festivities, Head Blender Justin Aden released Stranahan’s Calvados Cask, a special lodge-only exclusive. Aged in barrels previously used for France’s famous apple brandy, Calvados, some of the proceeds are donated to the Aspen Fire Protection District, a meaningful nod to the fire that brought Jess Graber and George Stranahan together in the first place.

Plenty to Enjoy at Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge
Aside from lodge-only selections and rare pours you can only taste and buy here, Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge in Aspen features a year-round restaurant and cocktail lounge.
The delectable cuisine is paired with Stranahan’s Whiskey, providing guests with a culinary experience that defies description. Come for a tasting, enjoy a cocktail and some nibbles, or make a night of it with shared plates and bites designed to pair with Stranahan’s fine American Single Malts.
