THE STORY
A blend of 10-12 year old whiskey finished for 7 months to 1.5 years in 2nd fill Amburana casks (South American hardwood) that previously held rye whiskey.

THE STORY
Upon completion of the primary maturation of 4-7 years in new oak, the whiskey was transferred to European oak barrels that formerly held Calvados for 2 – 4 more years.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Dandelion, wild honey, jasmine
Palate: Yellow pears, apple strudel, tangerine
Finish: Fresh ginger and warm cider
EXPERIMENTAL SERIES
Only available at the Stranahan’s distillery (Denver, CO) and Stranahan’s Whiskey Lodge, (Aspen, CO). Distiller’s Experimentals are a rotating collection of rare whiskey experiments concocted by Head Blender, Justin Aden. Distiller’s Experimentals are available in very limited 375mL quantities, while bottles last. The Stranahan’s distillery also hosts weekly Experimental Guided Tastings, providing guests with an opportunity to receive in-depth exploration and a guided tasting of the most current Experimentals.

THE STORY
A blend of two familiar casks: Ex-Stranahan’s barrels used by our partner Bjorn’s Honey to infuse honey before being returned to us to age whiskey for the second time. The second barrel was from a formal Cask Thief barrel called “Wild Thing” made up of a blend of peach ales from local breweries (Crooked Stave & Wild Provisions).

- Palate: Peach, Citrus Juice, Vanilla
- Finish: Oak, with Christmas Spices

THE STORY
A collection of ex-Cognac casks, rounded off by Tawny Port, and Moscatel casks. Married into third fill Madeira casks for 3 months, making this blend just shy of 10 years old.

Palate: Grape skins, tobacco, caramelized pear
Finish: Leather, mixed stone fruits, med-long drying finish

Starting with a Stranahan’s base in new American oak with our standard level 3 char for 4 years and then finished in custom “smoke toast” level 1 char barrels.

Our annual winter event, Snowflake, is named after the rarest Stranahan’s whiskey that is available during this one-day-only event. To create Snowflake, our team of distillers finishes Stranahan’s American Single Malts in barrels that he discovers around the world, and meticulously blends them to create each unique Snowflake batch.
