ASPEN EXLCUSIVE CALVADOS CASK

THE STORY
Upon completion of the primary maturation of 4-7 years in new oak, the whiskey was transferred to European oak barrels that formerly held Calvados for 2 – 4 more years.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Dandelion, wild honey, jasmine
Palate: Yellow pears, apple strudel, tangerine
Finish: Fresh ginger and warm cider

Colorado Brewer’s Cask

THE STORY
After the initial maturation of 6-8 years, we lent local breweries our barrels for them to age their own beers, and they returned them to us to re-fill with Stranahan’s for a range of 1 to 3 more years.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Biscotti, cocoa powder & gingerbread
Palate: Round & coating mouthfeel, malt balls, coffee cake & toffee
Finish: Balanced heat that accompanies dry, crisp maltiness familiar in dark beers.

Red Wine Cask

THE STORY
The Red Wine Cask is an American Single Malt crafted from a marriage of seven year-old whiskeys, with a minimum of three years spent in casks that previously held Bordeaux and Pinot Noir.
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of tarragon, lemon fresca, banana bread, and vanilla wafer evolve into hints of white peach juice, peach cobbler, and orange creamsicle on the palate. The finish is round and fluffy like marshmallow, before a late linger of red wine dryness re-primes the palate superbly.

COUPE VOL. 1

THE STORY
Once the primary maturation process was complete, the single malt was spread to a variety of European wine casks for finishing, before being combined and returned to used Stranahans American oak.
TASTING NOTES
Deep & rich on the nose with hints of wet sand and caramel covered raisins. On the palate, concord grapes, plum and fig newtons. Finishing off with dry baked fruits and sparkling wine.

NOIR & BRANCA
AGE: 7 YRS | CASK TYPE: FRENCH PINOT NOIR & WHITE PORT
THE STORY
Starting with a Stranahans base in new American oak, the whiskey was transferred to ex-Pinot Noir & White Port barrels to finish for 4 years before being blended together.
TASTING NOTES
The port wine comes in strong on the nose, reminiscent of a cool coastal breeze. Rich & sturdy on the palate like reduced cooking wine and pastel mints. A viscous linger leaves hints of crème de menthe.

EMPIRE STATE BOURBON
AGE: 10 YR 7 MO | CASK TYPE: EX NY BOURBON
THE STORY
Starting with a primary aging of 8 years, this whiskey was transferred to a bourbon cask for an additional 2 years.
TASTING NOTES
Sauna rocks, bacon grease and lemon balm fuse together on the nose of this mature sipper. A friendly palate of vanilla and caramel with a finish of coffee grounds and Honey Nut Cheerios.

THE EVENT
Our annual winter event, Snowflake, is named after the rarest Stranahan’s whiskey that is available during this one-day-only event. To create Snowflake, our team of distillers finishes Stranahan’s American Single Malts in barrels that he discovers around the world, and meticulously blends them to create each unique Snowflake batch.
