PROCESS & PROFILE
Each year, our Diamond Peak release showcases a unique finishing process—an opportunity to experiment and expand while staying rooted in our American Single Malt tradition.
For the 2025 edition, we collaborated with some of Colorado’s most acclaimed brewers and selected a range of barrels to finish our 6-year-old whiskey—barrels that once held Coffee Stouts, Barley Wines, Belgian Quads, and more. Each one holding a reputation for aging bold, expressive beers.
This isn’t the first time Stranahan’s has partnered with local breweries. In fact, Jess Graber used George Stranahan’s beer mash from Flying Dog Brewery to distill his first batch of American Single Malt. Our 2025 Diamond Peak release pays homage back to those roots and honors a long-standing tradition of collaboration and craftsmanship.
Bottled at 90 proof, Local Brewer’s Cask is a layered, flavor-rich expression with balanced sweetness. Enjoy roasted flavors, lingering dark fruit, spice, and rich malt notes.
DISTILLATION: Distilled from 100% malted barley and handmade in small batches at the Stranahan’s distillery, Colorado’s first legal distillery since Prohibition.
MATURATION: Initially aged for 4-6 years in new American oak, then finished for 1.5-2 years in barrels that previously held bold Colorado craft beers.
CUT: Cut to proof with pristine Rocky Mountain water and non-chill filtered.
NOSE: Raisin, fig, chocolate-covered candied oranges, espresso, old cedar.
PALATE: Chocolate malt, berry mix, semi-sweet chocolate chips, orange slices, and hazelnut.
FINISH: Dry with medium length, thick texture that coats the mouth, lingering.

PREVIOUS RELEASES

STRANAHAN’S CARIBBEAN RUM cask
AGE: 6-9 YR | CASK TYPE: PRIZED VARIETALS OF RUM CASKS FROM THE GREATER AND LESSER ANTILLES OF THE CARIBBEAN
THE STORY
Diamond Peak’s third unique release explores the intersection of American Single Malt and Caribbean influence. We finished our whiskey in rum casks sourced from the Greater and Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean, allowing tropical sweetness and warm spice to layer into our bold Rocky Mountain profile. The result is a cask-finished whiskey that’s complex, adventurous, and distinctly Stranahan’s.
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of banana bread, clove, and honeyed oak. Flavors of burnt sugar, golden raisin, and rich malt. A warm, lingering finish with subtle island spice.

STRANAHAN’S extra añejo tequila cask
AGE: 5-8 YR | CASK TYPE: José Cuervo Reserva de Familia® extra añejo tequila
THE STORY
Diamond Peak’s second unique release highlights flavors that transcend traditional whiskey. Using a marriage of 5-8 year Stranahan’s, the liquid spends just over 2 years in casks that previously held the finest extra añejo tequila, the prized Reserva de Familia® blended from the José Cuervo special family reserves. The resulting whiskey is a burst of brightness that’s herbal, peppery, and has just the right amount of agave sweetness.
TASTING NOTES
Peppery and floral, softly layered with butterscotch. The palate opens with herbs, salted caramel and a mellow oak backbone, finishing with a creamy malt that fades into light agave sugar.

Stranahan’s Irish Cask
AGE: 7+ YR | CASK TYPE: BUSHMILLS IRISH SINGLE MALT
THE STORY
Diamond Peak’s first unique release highlights flavors that transcend geography. After being aged in American oak barrels for 4 years, the liquid is finished in Bushmills Irish single malt barrels for more than 3 years, providing a unique and complex profile that would make an Irishman blush.
TASTING NOTES
Butterscotch, cereal sweetness, and well-oiled leather aromas evolve into earthy grain flavors with toffee accents on the palate. The buttery palate leads into a light, but long, finish.
