The Essential Whiskey Cocktails List
Each recipe makes one drink. Multiply by drinks needed or batch it in advance for the group.
COZY UP COCOA
What you’ll need:
- Coffee mug or mason jar
- Blender or hand frother
Recipe (per cocktail):
- 1.5 oz Stranahan’s Blue Peak
- 4 oz Dark chocolate cocoa mix
- 1 oz Créme de menthe
- 4-6 Dashes black walnut bitters
- Garnish: mint or whipped cream
Method:
- Place 4-6 dashes of black walnut bitters and whiskey into a mason jar
- Add hot cocoa mix and blend with water or milk according to your preference (use a hand frother for best results) before adding spirits
- Garnish with whipped cream and a couple of sprigs of fresh mint
Red Ruby Hot Toddy
The perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy for those cold winter days and nights!
What you’ll need:
- Tea mug, coffee cup, or mason jar
Recipe (per cocktail):
- 2 oz Stranahan’s Blue Peak
- 6 oz Hot brewed chamomile tea
- Honey
- Angostura bitters
- Cinnamon stick
- Fresh lemon
- Slices of ruby red grapefruit
- Cloves
Method:
- Brew a 6 oz cup of chamomile tea and add honey to taste
- Pour 2 oz of Stranahan’s Blue Peak and a splash of Angostura bitters
- Stir to combine
- Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and garnish with a cinnamon stick and a clove-studded ruby-red grapefruit wheel
Fireside Old Fashioned
This signature cocktail couldn’t be easier or more impressive! It uses our Fireside Old Fashioned Infusion Kit, which comes complete with all the ingredients. Just add your favorite Stranahan’s Whiskey, a splash of simple syrup, and pour into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a cocktail cherry and a slice of orange peel, and you’ve got the best Old Fashioned we’ve ever tasted!

Spiked Coffee
Stranahan’s Spiked Coffee is a cold drink served over ice. Make it in a coffee mug and top with espresso or your favorite coffee for a hot modification.
What you’ll need:
- Rocks glass (cold), coffee mug or mason jar (hot)
- Ice
Recipe (per cocktail):
- 2 oz Stranahan’s Blue Peak
- .75 oz Coffee liqueur of your choice
- 1 dash Mole bitters
- (Hot modification: coffee)
Method:
- Add Stranahan’s Blue Peak, coffee liqueur, and mole bitters to a glass and stir to combine
- Serve over ice and garnish with an orange twist
- Top with coffee if enjoying as a hot beverage.
SMOKED ROSEMARY WHISKEY SOUR
Who said whiskey sours are only for summer? Here’s a an herbal twist on your traditional whiskey sour.
What you’ll need:
- Boston Shaker or Cocktail Shaker
- Cocktail Strainer
- Coupe glass
Recipe (per cocktail):
- 1.5 oz Stranahan’s Blue Peak
- 1 oz Smoked rosemary simple syrup
- 1 oz House made sour mix
Method
- Pour ingredients into Boston shaker.
- Shake vigorously until visible foam appears.
- Strain into coup glass and garnish.
